Tabbed browsing !
Best thing since sliced bread?
Well, I thought so anyway and so does everyone else.
(I still do if used for its intention.) I had a discussion with a friend of mine the other day
concerning the different ways that can be used to advertise
our products, business and ourselves. We have both been on the internet for quite some time now.
After talking about the various ways to advertise, you know,
pay per click, article marketing etc. we ventured into things like,
traffic exchanges, surf sites, safe-lists and so on. He really started laughing at me when I told him I was using over 300 traffic exchanges, surf sites etc.
I asked him what was so funny?
Well ! here is his reply in a nut shell !
Those things worked okay a few years ago. Today, with tabbed browsing everybody just opens several browser tabs and zips back and forth from them just collecting their credits. You wind up with a ton of email ads and nothing to show for it; nine out of ten people never even look at your site! (Just collecting their credits to hopefully show you 'their site' if you look....) These things are just a waste of your time! Lost time is lost income ! So, he says, start using your head for something besides 'keeping your ears apart' !
Don't roller-skate in a buffalo herd! Do your advertising in newsletters, article directories, social sites, bookmarks etc., and pay per click (if you can afford to.) At least you get marketers that will look at what you are presenting. A real 'live' person makes for a get to 'know you' better, as well as your programs and business. Well, I do see why he was laughing (all the way to the bank). My laughter is at myself for being so ill informed an believing those other people. The only ones who are making any income from those programs are the owners ! Oh well, onward and upward !
